Personality | 'Let's trade, yes? That bucket of fish for some motivation!' | Thanks to his protective tendencies and his enhanced size, Tooth has no problem watching over the rest of residents in the Estate. He's always considered himself a horse at heart- a horse with wings and a bunch of strange stuff, but a horse nonetheless. A very pleasant and compliant guy, he takes on whatever life throws his way, specially if it comes new to him. Despite his enormous size, he has a calming effect around those around him, and is usually the one to stop any conflict between his fellow stallions (he can and he will step in, however, effectively beating any other horse into the ground).

Tooth's birth was deemed both a miracle and a dangerous negligence. With the genetic projects -namely Sauropteryx, or in other words, the retrieval,analysis and recreation of a very unusual series of rescued reptilian DNA strands- and researches done in the private lab in full swing, the head researchers tried to bring the so-called 'draconic' DNA over to mammalian level: mixing the new DNA with specialized horse DNA, in hopes of getting a hybridisation. This decision was harshly criticized by both 90% of the team and several second opinions, but to no avail- there seemed to be enough safety measures and resources to carry it to possible term. After months of work on a fertilized horse ova, the finished altered foal was placed in the womb of a surrogate mother, Jaguar- a mare owned by one of the Estate's close affiliates. The mare was closely monitored for the first months of the pregnancy, and the success and relative ease which with the embryo settled was reassuring. Months later, various ultrasounds revealed the development of tiny wextra limbs- wings, and a very elongated tailbone, all of it to serve as birthday gift to a very dragon-inclined owner.

When the time for delivering came, everyone was expectant. Everyone working in the Estate knew about the foal, and everything was carefully treaded in order to make things easier for Jaguar. The day the red mare went into labor, the best veterinarians were assembled both to witness and help carry out a safe C-Section to Jaguar. Hours later, a large, black and extremely special colt was brought to the world, strong and healthy. The whole team cheered.

Since his birth, the colt, aptly named The Night Fury thanks both to his nocturnal tendencies and the great thunderstorm that shook the sky the night he was born, and ironically nicknamed Toothless thanks to his sharp teeth, proved to be more and more surprising. The physical and biological changes applied to him had seemed to settle in really well, especially inside his 'special survey agent' job over at Invenio. Best dragon shepherd one could ask for.

• Toothless can't use his wings and fly by himself. He's been trained to answer to a series of aids and commands that help him with the flapping and whole flight process. In other words: he can only fly when ridden by Em- the only one brave enough (or dangerously fascinated by flying) to even try.
• Thanks to this, the two share an incredibly close bond. Tooth is Em's special boy, and Em is Tooth's tiny human.
• He seems to be extremely intelligent to the point of sentience, and has showed signs of possible sapiency. This might be thanks to the mixed DNA's influence.
• Its taken almost eight years of training for him to get the gist of flight.
• In order to cope with the energy demand of it, he usually gets fed special baked fish treats.
• He's usually a very gentle animal aware of his size, but he won't hesitate to attack in order to protect. One particularly nasty incident involved a dog that slipped in the stables and tried to attack the horses in the pasture. The end result had a vicious angry toothless with a very nasty bite, and lots of blood and guts.
• He is very hard to spook, something Em is grateful for. No one would appreciate falling down while in the air.
• Toothless has his own customized tack, which is constantly undergoing changes to fit him.

Toothless' physical modifications can be summed up as these:

• The most striking feature are obviously the large pair of wings sitting atop his shoulders. To develop them, the genetics team slightly stretched Toothless' ribcage and sternum, making way for an extra pair of limbs and the necessary muscles to make them work. These limbs were then mutated into bat-like mammalian membranous wings. As a 'secondary system' of sorts, various other appendages have appeared along his body (rump, tail). These are mobile and might be used as aid in flight.
• Extremely elongated tailbone. Toothless can lash it to attack or use it as a balance aid when in flight as well.
• Enhanced size, but reduced weight. We have detected the presence of semi-pneumatic hollow bones in some places. He barely reaches 200 kg in weight.
• Reduced organ and ribcage size, development of the sternum into a sturdy keelbone for anchoring flight muscles.
• Strengthened neck and back muscles, to endure the strain of flight motion.
• Disappearance of mane and tail, scarce and thin coat reminiscent of that of Akhal-Tekes.
• Bigger eyeballs, with slit pupils. We do believe this is another secondary effect of the mixed strands, since it was not intended for his eyes to change. The pupil has become retractable and dilatable according to his moods. His eyes have become a mixed color of his original blue eyes, green and yellow.
• Herbivore dentition becomes omnivore-carnivore, and his diet slightly varies, probably due to the demand of high protein diet from a flight system. He will accept and seems to like the flavor of certain fish more than others.
• Presence of small hardened keratin scales on some zones, specially ears.
