OH gods I'm having some terrible days. I feel like a 90 year old granny.
ANYWAYS, in anticipation for the dragon hunt, I had to work on my Toothie guy's dragon tack. As expected, I based this whole design on the real Toothless and a more HTTYD saddle style in general.
The tack consists of an aerodynamical, loin saddle built in steel and leather. The main saddle's piece is attached to the body by a series of leather straps (or whole body covering in the case of Dragon tack), safely keepin it in place. Stirrups are provided in form of adjustable, rotating pedals. Those are placed according to the rider's pose while riding: either pulling your knees over the wing muscles (front pedal) or on a kneeling/squatting position in order to give little aerial resistance when the horse flies at high speeds (back pedal). There's two sets of reins as well. First, and hanging loose, are the principal pair of reins, designed for normal flying or earth riding. The second, removable set, is tightly fastened to the halter and the directional bars placed on the saddle, and used for fast flights as a directional aid. The directional bars, placed in the front part of the saddle, work as the main steering wheel when in fast flight, having the rider squat over the saddle as previously mentioned while guiding the horse by moving the bars. Those bars can be switched to an arched position mostly for comfortability purposes.
Really hope I didn't fuck this up. I worked absolutely hard but I have my doubts about the long saddle shape.
